tainment there was a perfect stampede by
the fair sex to obtain one of his peculiar
receipts, which they evidently highly priz
ed. "The costly jewels also excited much
admiration. In addition to the,. General
the entertainment is delightfully in terspers

De Vere and Titcomb, whose efforts to
please were crowned with success. Mr.
Tomlin in his "Fie Man" convulses the
audience with.laughter to such •art extent
that "Momus" in future must hide his di
minished head. , Tile sentiniental some
of the'same gentleman exhibit great Musi
cal ability and a voice of fine woman's qual
ity. Mr. De Vere's ballads were rendered
with pathos and feeling, while Mr. Tit
comb as pianist displays great (artistic
taste. Altogether the performances are
highly interesting and amusing.

age and gives hii name as Bill Anderson.
lie was owned by a gentleman named
Wilcox, who resided in Baltimore. and he
says he was always well fed and kindlt
treated by his master. The "contraband'
has been takezi care of by a benevolent
gentleman, who has engaged him as a ser
vant. lie is very indignant at the soldier
who induced him to leave home. This is
