ARRIVAL OF PRISONERS AT BALTIMORE. A Divided Sentiment The Baltimore American gives the fol lowing account of the arrival of the rebel prisoners taken in the late engagement near Winchester: "A special train front the West yester day afternoon brought to this city, for safe keeping. two hundred and thirty rebel of and soldiers captured during the re cent battle near Winchester. The prison ers were in charge of Captain Banning, of the Fourth Ohio Regiment. who, with his company, - escorted them from Winches ter. The news of the arrival of the pris oners drew a considerable crowd to the vicinity of the depot, which was largely increased as they moved towards 'the jail. on Madison street, where quarters had been provided for their reception. No marked demonstration of any kind, lnov ever, was attempted. A force of police were in attendance, and kept the crowd in or'der. As SOOll as the prisoners were landed the line of march was taken up by way. of Howard to Madison street, and thence to the jail. Suite of the prisoners were uniformed. and some not. Their ap• pearance generally was not prepossessing nor military looking, but as they were soil ed and fatigued front their hard service on Sunday. and subsequent traveling. it is perhaps but just to give them credit for b,•• tag better than they looked. —Upon reaching . the .jail a secessionist, who resides in the vieinity. placed his children in one attic windows of his house and told them to hurrah Inc Jeff.
