Following are the points recently deci ded by Justice Wayne, of the United States Supreme Court, in his opinion in, the case Of Alexander G. Woods vs. Law , ' ranee County, an action upon rail road bonds: 1. There was authority in the county of Lawrence, constitutionally, and bye proper construction of the act of the 9th of Feb ruary, 1868, to subscribe to the stock, as t as done, and that the bonds issued in payment of the county subscription to the railroad company are valid in the hands of the plantiff, and all bona tide holders of them. 2 That there was no deficiency in the motion of the Grand Jury in setting forth the terms on which the county subscription should be made. E. That the county of Lawrence was au thorised to issue such bonds as they pass ed to the railroad company, in payment of its subscription to the North Western Railroad Company. 4.
