Woodwbll-Two or three landscapes;
field and forest—exhibiting- a progress
which, if not chocked, will very shortly
place him among our very first landscape
paintors.
G. R, Lambdkn, of Phil’a, —Groups
of Children; one an interior, the other a
shady nook by the edge of a grain field;
happy epeclmens of Mr. id’s style, rich in
color, meilow in tone and just the kind of
pictures for some of our “crude-green”
amateurs to study.
JDalbt. —Portraits; Mr. D's success as
a portrait-painter is well known, and the
specimens are equal to any of his produce
tions.
Lawman. —Copy from Bembrant, done
in Europe, ebowiegmuch of the excellence
■of that remarkable mister.
Blythe— Among others, has a picture
illustrating a passage in the life of ono of
his favurlto literary deities, Bobby Burns.

Concert.—Madame Crivelli’s concert on
Monday evening was a real treat. The
only objection was the price. One dollar
was too much for the times. However the
audience was very fine and intelligent al

Signor Ar.davaui is a fine baritone—free
full and sympathetic. He was warmlv re

and Monsieur Alexandre Wolowski, the
pianist, of whose reputation we heard so
much by the foreign and native press per
formed remarkably well. His reception
was very warm. He possesses immense
power and delicacy • ! touch. His manner
is graculul and pleasing.”
