mand, we have routed the rebels of Thomp
son and Lowe, estimated At 6,000. Their
loss was heavy. Our loss is and
confined principally to the First Indiana
Cavalry. We captured four heavy gunk
Lowe, the rebel leader, was killed. Major
Gavitte and Oapt. Hymon, of the Indiana
Cavalry, were killed in a charge on a bat
tery.
The command of Col. Plummer, refer
red tc above, was en Friday morning last
ordered forward by Glen. Grant, from Capa
Girardeau, with instructions to moye to
wards Fredericktown and cut off the' rev
treat of Thompson and Lowe’s army.—
