LECTI:HEs The twelfth aid last of the course of lectures on Chemistry, which has. during the last six weeks, been going on at University Hail, was delivered, on Tuesday evening, by Prof. Geo F. Barker, of Boston, the intelligent gentleman who has so woll entertained th 0.4 4, attending the course. The subject was Electricity, and was illustrated by a series of entertaining ex periments, calling into requisition a galvanic battery, constructed for him by Messrs. Park, McCurdy & Cu., since his arrival here, under his personal supervision. He had been in the employ of Mr. Shaum, steam cracker baker, and on Saturday last met with an accident by which he lost four fingers from one of his hands. He disappeared soon after, and his body was found, on Mon day, in the coal pit, with a pistol abet in :he head. The jury found a verdict in accordance with the facts.
