Clement asiten .eral Superintendent of this road, has been as by the Company. The position of. Ge neral Superintendent of the Eastern Division of the Ohio & Mississippi Railroad has been ten 'dered to E. W. Woodward, at present Assist ant Superintendent of the road, and by him accepted. Mr. Woodward has achieved an established reputation as an accomplished engi neer and a competent railway manager. This appointment is a substantial evidence of the estimate placed on the services of this officer, but by the end of his first term, Mr. Wood ward will have won a still stronger hold on the respect of the proprietors of the Ohio & Miss iisippi road. The Letter to Secretary Floyd. The Mobilo Tribune thinks Richard Realf, John Brown's "stray Secretary of State," wrote the anonymous letter about the Harper's Ferry project, which was sent to Secretary Floyd.' It says Mr. Realf was in that vicinity several weeks during the months of September and October, employed in literary labors.— some time between the first and tenth of Oc tober ho left Mobile for New Orleans. He arrived there, was seen to enter a hack or cab, and has not been beard of since.
