TATION.—ProposaIs will be received at the quer
termstsler General's - Office until 12, M., on the Ist day of
October next, for the transportation of military supplies
during the year 1560 and 1861, on the following routes:
1. From Forts Leavenworth and Riley in the Terri-
Wry of !lenses, from Fort Laramie, in the Territory of
Nebraska, or from any point on the-west litudrof the
Missouri river north of Fort Leavenworth and south of
latitude 42 deg. north at which a depot may be establish
ed, to the postewhich ate now or mac be established in
the Territory of Nebraska south of latitude 44 deg.north,
in Oregon south of latitude 44 deg. north and east of
longitude 114 dec. west, and in the Territory 11f Utah
north of latitude 40 degrees north and east of longitude
114 deg. west
-2.' From Forte Leavenworth and Riley in the Territo
ry of Kansas, and from the town of Kansas in the Stale
of Missouri, to Fort Union in the Territory of Newldex
leo, or to any other depot that may te designated id that
Territory.

depots that are or may be established in the Military
Department of New Mexico, except Forts and
Fillmore.
The weight to be transported each year willnot be less
on either of the ranter than one hundred thousand
pounds, nor more on route 1 than ten millions of pounds,
and on routes 2 and 3 than two millions five hundred
thousand pounds each.
Proposals will state the rate per hundred pounds per
hundred miles for which the transportatton will ho per
formed on each route iu each month of the year, and
may be made for all the routes collectively, for any two
of them, or for each route separately.
Bidders will give their ratifies in full as well as their
places of resideuee, and be prepared to exeente bonds
with good security in sash an amount as the Quarter
master General may determine.
