A correspondent, of the flew. Tore Vm e es..

The .44ipuhlicsois at the Balfzisill"probalily
be at 'great pains to persuadelennil that the
" admired disorder," in whieh:the'ConVention
broke up, was all the work the . "
Democrats, and that the issue really medal - wet
that of sustaining the administration or rejtet
ingits proposals.. All this-is an; error, mot to
use stronger terms. I have no proclivities for I
the . Democracy, as yon' know ; but I ' don't
think they are any more nearly as blackas
they are usually painted, than is the author of
lies ' Herold Wyandotte; they have
been contending simply - for the location of the
State capital, with an. eye to corner lots on
future fine avenues. The .Bepnbliesias have
been doing the same thing precisely and they
haVe carried their point. Topeka;' known
through all the world (thanks to Mr. J.:
Gladstone,) as the Marathan or Thermopylse of
Kansas Greeks of freedom, has been. selected ;
any martyr who bas. grass thereabouts may
hope to make hay immediately. On the ala
very question, the whole principle has been con
ceded by the anti-slavery majority, who Lave
refused negrcies the right to vote.
This restriction was carried mainly by the
votes of ,northern origin on the Repuulican,
side; the Southernitepnblicans, of whom there
are not a tow sprinkled through the Conven
thin, taking a lesi emphatic view of negro
nosology. Both parties lavish charges of cor
ruption on each other, and.. I fear, with equal
justice. They. have swelled_tbe StataLegialii
ture to most inordinate dimensions for the sake
of conciliating certain :prominent men in the
different sections of- the State, who are imiious
to get into. power at 'sow. Theganeral feeling
is, that Congress will admit the State immedi
ately, although the Democrats hold off in a
body, and refused to sign the Constitution.
With a man like 31. r. Buchanan in the Presi
dential chair, this is a more important feature
of the case, I think, than the Bepnblicans here
are willing, iWtheir 'present exultant condition
to own. But we shall see. Meanwhile, if
there are any of your readers who still cherish
the delusion that Kansas is a community of
self-sacrificing heroes like the Puritans, let
them prepare for astonishment in the pro
gress of events, at the hands of yours, faith
fully, V. D.
MAKING .et Cuoics.—An eccentric preacher,
well known throughout the State of Michi
gan, was recently preaching in Detroit,
when a young man rose to leave the church.
The preacher exclaimed, in a voice of thun
tter—" Young man, if you would rather go to
hell, 'than hear me preach, you can go ? "
The person addressu>d hesitated for a mo
ment, and then walked out, saying. "well, I
believe I would."

THE CORALITE AN]) PORCtLAL
TEETH hare now been extensively tested by - ho
citizens of Pittsburgh, and the. verdict in their favor is
unanimous. Many have laid aside teeth mounted on
(mold plate to avail themselves -of the improternent%
embraced in these new andbeantifulstylesof Dentistry.
Their superiority consists mainly in their perfect adap.
tation to the mouth—their perfect eleanliziess,l being
without crack or crevice for food to find lodgment, and
made of a material on which the Juices or month
cannot act; they are free from all metallic- taste,
sion or tarnish and do not effect the breath, which is a
corro-
great desideratum, as all who wear Gold, Silver, Plati
num or other Metallic Plate, can te-stify.
They also combine great strength with fightneas, coin
fort and elegance—this with their close resemblance to
natural teeth render them the most desirable =bail
tines for those organs ever offered. An examination
will fully confirm all that has been said in their praise.
