On the 14th of Blay., the great Hungarian orator delivered, in Free Trade Hall, liiiischester, England, one 7 of: these Tema able speeches which from time to time have 1403 brilliancy to the, career of this re railcable ,man. We have read this speech with great interest, and find itcharacterized by that union of penetration, eloquenahnd patriotism, for which his popular addfeAses, in the English language, of whicli he iS_tt perfect master, have Always been re , '; - . his Ildkrichester , address, ho counsels England to a strict neutrality in the 'resent e4Aest---not however 'from any reaard to the- interest?. of England, bat in the.eon viation that the sympathies . of the British rulers are with Austria. lie distinctly charges them on this score, maintaining that they have never expressed a word of friend rMeap artsieiy in regard tpthe, fate -of Italy, while they had manifested the pro foUndest solicitude for Austria. His position is, of course, that of an ardent • - Hungarian -patriot, win) hopes ice the ferments and agitations of Italy extend to his native country ; he looks upon Austria as . i.he :oppressor 'of his ' people -L-=a'-sort Cf monster among the nations, red with crimes against liberty, against which the thunder tones of his masterly eloquence have been directed for years, and he is averse,•in the present contest, to seeing her strengthened even by a Moral approval. In this view, the burden of his adjura tion to England is. "If you ,cannot help Italy, for heaVen's sake do not help Austria, :the ciPpressor .of Italy. Do not allow' your prejudices .ngainst France and the ruler ..of France to place you on the side of tyranny and wrong." Kossuth draws an ineenious distinction between the French and the Austrian goV ernmentii for in France the despotism is personal and temporary, while the tia- tion is essentially free, radiating the light of selenee andart to all the World ; but in. Aus tria the despotism is absolute, part and pae eelof the national life, depressingand blight ing whatever comes within its influences. Admitting, however. that the governments are equally odious, that fact in itself would be an argument rwainst the interference of England. If the taskmasters go to war, sap: Kossuth, let theM tear each other to pieces if they leave. He adds, at the same time, that he knows nothing of the intentions of Louis Napoleon, although he, believes that his interests were all on the side of the inde pendence of the nations. The-se are his views. He is naturally, C irom hitaantecedent.% unwilling to see any merit in any position Austria may assume. She is the dragon of his imagination, and he lia.s still hopes that he may be the Hercules who shall crush the monster's head. He is not positively unjust - in what he says of the government which he regards as the heredi tary enemy of his native land; but he avoids, to a great extent, the discussion of the causes or ground-work of the present Eu ropean contest. ' At the elate of his rein its he intimates that hemayspon be called upon to go to Hun gary. Counterfeit postage Stamps. The person in saii.stion gave bail and was liberated. To-day farther &Fel , opmen Li appear in the CILSO. Wo hail it as a most auspicious circumstance— as a sign of daybreak after a most dark and glomuy, pight—Pat two hundred men of sub stance and inlluenceare found, Who hula upon living up to contracts deliberately entered into. We are all the more gratified at this; because we have been told by the Arch Repudiator and his: followers,-that there did not exist a singlet person in all Pittsburgh or Allegheny, who was not opposed, tote owl°, to the collection of taxes for the purpose of paying interest on Bonds issued to Railroads. And not only this, but that the whole community to a man, would Openly resist the process of a:Court if sought to be executed in favor of the Bond Holders, Bittin - the manly protest of the immortal two hundred, who not only love honesty for itself, but believe it to be the best policy, we find a triumphant refutation of this wholesale slen der of a community, 'We observed also, a few weeks ago, the proceedings of the German Republican Convention, in Which those sturdy friends• of freedom and of justice—declared their open hostility to repudiation, and their determination to use all means in their power to have the municipal faith preserved inviolate. "The ball is rolling on," and we confidently expect to see it roll on till it gathers all the honest but now misguided citizens into ono solid mass of pure civic integrity, and leaves the miserable foes of honesty so 'deeply im bedded in the slough of their filthy' repudia- I thin, that no ono will be willing to soil himself with their contact, but take pleasure in point ing "the linger of scorn " althorn.
