Er —— Nor Ay Expert. —We are informed of the robbery of the railroad ticket office at Oceola, of 25,00 in money and several tickets, by a person whose name is to us unknown, on Saturday last. The thief left all the currency in the drawer and took only the bills. He would probably have made good his escape had he not afterward re turned to the office and handed one of the stolen tickets to the agent with a request to stamp it. He was taken into custody, and, if a free ride was all he desired, his wishes in that respect were gratified. : Mr. Levi Derrick, of Lawrence twp. Clearfield county, had a finger bitten by a rattlesnake on Tuesday. Remedies being immediately applied, it is tho't he will recover. From the Raftsman Journal we learn that a Mr, Pyles, of Lumber City, Clearfield county, lost his life by drowning at Muncy dam, on Monday. He was engaged in running a raft for Martin Flynn—who was upon the raft—which, becoming unmanageable, was carried by the high water over the dam. Taylor, who resides in Kishaco- quillas Valley, Mifflin county, less than a mile from the camp and spring of the cele- brated Chief Logan, in digging to repair the foundation of an old house, that has stood sixty-five or seventy years, lately, found imbedded in the earth about four feet under the surface, a Selver Tea Spoon with the name, Wm. Penn, handsomely engraved upon it, as also the name of the maker, trade mark, &e. The spoon is perfect and the engraving perfectly legi- ble.
