Pursuant to a call, issued hy Col. Slifer, chairman of the committee appointed at a former meeting, to confer with the Pa R. R. Co. to thelednstrug jon of the L,C. &8§ £1 citizens of Union, Centre, and Hunting don counties, met at Millheim, on last Fri- day, 27th ult, to hear the report of said committee, and take such further action as this important milroad project. Every lo- cality along the'fine OF the road was well represented by its best men, who came there full of the proper spirit, and gave an assu- rance that the people of theigrespective lo- calities were thoroughly areused and de- termined that the work should go shead. The meeting was a perfect success, and ad- journed leaving a large ray of hope fora railroad through Buffalo and Penns Val- lies.
