urday night fifty thousand dollars, the
proceeds of the jzovernment sale. was
placed in a'safe in the Treasurer's of-
fice, at the United States Arsenal in
this city. Yesterday morning, ou

dollars was missing. © The safe appa-
rently has not been tampered with.
The building is full of might watch-
