day who were boistrous, making threats

lean out the bowling alley of Mr. J. M

FIRE.—On the morning of the 15th ult.,
part of the dwelling house of Isreal Condo,
at Boalsburg, was destroyed by fire. The
loss is not heavy and is covered by msu-
rance in the Centre Hall Comp.
LOST.—Between Centre Hall and J. Da-
sher's, an umbrella, with catved handle.
The finder, by leaving it at the Reporter
office, will be suitably rewarded.

Mr. Jonathan Kreamer, last week took pos-
session of the Hotel at Millheim, hervto-
fore kept by Wm. Hosterman.
THE PENN HALL ACADEMY, will
commence its next Term on April 6th, next
under charge of a professor from the Mer-
cersburg Theological Seminary. The ad-

of God, an honest man, and leaves not an
enemy behind him. Peace to his ashes,

lite, health, and happiness of woman in all
classes of society, wx which, consequently,
affect more or less directly, the welfare of
the entire human family, The mania that
exists for precocious education and mar-
ringe, causes the years that nature desig-
ned for corporeal developement to be was-
ted nnd perverted in the restraints of dress,
the early confinement of school, and espe-
cially in the unhealthy excitement of the
ball-room. Thos, with the body half-clo-
thed, and the mind unduly excited by plea-
sure, perverting in midnight revel the
rest, the work of destruction is half necom-
plished. »
