their relatives and acquaintances outside
of our county, especially to such as former-

many to become subscribers, Any person

For TRAVELERS. ~Since odr friend
Buoy has become proprietor of the
stage-rout which centre at Centre Hall,
he has made such arrangements in the
running of the same, as to insure the
greatest possible speed and convenience
to the traveling community, Persons
leaving Philadelphia in the morning
train reach Centre Hall, via Milroy,
at ¥ in the evening of same day, and
Bellefonte at 11, as the coaches do not
leave Milroy until abobt 5 o'clock, p.
m., after the arvival of the cars. Das
sengers coming in from the west can
leave Pittsburg at midnight, and reach
Centre Hall, via Bellefonte, at about
1 o'clock, noon, same day, as the
coacues do not leave Bellefonte for this
place, until 11} o'clock, shortly after
the arrival of the western train, and
are thus brought right through into the
heart of our valley. Passengers from
the direction of MifHinburg and Aa-
ronsburg, going west, reach Centre
Hall at about 6 o'clock in the evening,
and make connection at 9, about 3
hours later, with stages for Bellefonte,
instead of being obliged to lie over at
this place nearly one day as formerly.
Stages going cast through Pennsvalley,
leave Centre Hall at 7 every morning.
Stages for Spruce Creek leave Centre
especially for this side, the heart of the
county. This has been the experience |
of allso far, who have advertised ir |
the Rerorrer. We venture to say, |
that since we commenced the publica-
tion of this paper, the rapid increase of
our list, unsolicited, is without prece-
dent in this eounty.
Grasspopress are very plenty in
many parts of our county, and are com-
mittinge havoek among the young clover

Aryv BroxkN.—The wife of Mr. |
Henry Emerick, from near this place, |
had her arm broken, above the wrist |
on last Monday, by falling froma cher-
ry tree.
Lec Broxex.—On last Monday
morning a sonof Mr. Hugh Laurimore,
in the Loop, aged about 13 years, m
company with another boy attempted
to ride & horse without a bridle. The !
flies having been very troublesome,
caused the animal to run away, throw-
ing off both the riders, and tramping
upon the left leg of young Laurimore,
caused a compound fracture of the limb
between the knee and ankle which as
Dr. Neff informs us, is of a very seri- |
ous and dangerous nature.
tn
Ronsep.—Mr. Michael Ziegler, of
Miliheim, was robbed, at Pittsburg, on
last Saturday night. The circumstances
as related to us, are as follows: As
Mr. Ziegler was about leaving the ears
he made inquiry among the passengers, |
as to where an acquaintance was living |
whieh no one seemed to know, when |
some one stepped up and told him he
knew the residence of the person and |
could conduct him to the place in five |
minutes. Mr. Ziegler gladly consented |
and off they started, and had not gone
very far, when the stranger threw his |
arms around Mr. Ziegler's neck so |
tightly as to nearly choke him and at
the same time robbed him of his pock- |
et-book, eontaining 850 which was all
the money he had, and which contain- |
cd, besides, some valuable papers. |
Through the kindness of a friend Mi- |
chael obtained a ticket gion brought |
him home again ; he had started for
Ohio, and this circumstance obliged |
him to turn about.

communion seasons in the charge at |
Aaronsburg, Pa., of which Rev. C. H. |
Reiter 1s pastor, closed on the 21st of |
June. Forty-six persons were added |
to the church, forty-seven by confirma- |
tion and nine by certificate. The for-
mer received ecatechetical instruction |
since December last. Fifteen are
heads of families.
The attendance was very large on
the different communion occasions, and
theservicesinteresting and solemn. An
unusally large number of persons com-

an encouraging and refreshing season. |
Judging from present indications, the |
prospects of success in this field of la-

drowned last week, while bathing in
the river, near that place.
The present week has been a gad one
for Lock Haven. We have had up to

two cases of sunstroke. The deaths
are Thomas Huff, Dr. Peale, James
McCormick, Dr. Kelly, and Mrs, Irvin.
The cases of sunstroke are Frank Leho

THE MORNING PATRIOT.
The office of the late Patriot and Union
having passed into the hands of the under-
signed, they propose to supply & vacuum
that has long existed in the newspaper press
of the interior of Pennsylvania.
From some cause or other the reading-

sentiments were distasteful to them,
The Morning Patriot isintended tosapply

Its proprietors are determined that no ef-

it fully equal, as a newspaper, to any of its
competitors, Whatever the eleetric wires
are able to communicate, up to the hour of
going to press, will be furnished in its col-
umns every morning; and its large size will
enable it to give quite as much reading
matter as any of its contemporaries
