July, 3rd, 1868, IR IMPORTANT TO SOLDIERS, — The | ~tate Legislatureat Harrisburg recent- lv passed a bill, which provides that | the discharge papers of soldiers who | served in the late war may be recorded in the Register’s Office in each county. In this way the fact of having an hon- orable discharge from the service may be preserved by thesoldier; buta copy of sueh county record according to ex- isting rules, will not supply the place of the original discharge certificate in case of an application to the govern- ment for bounty, land, back pay, ete, in all such cases the certificate of dis- charge itself must be produced to the proper authorities at Washington, Soldiers should remember this and carefully preserve their certificates of discharge from: being lost or destroyed whether they be recorded in the office of the county recorder or not. or ee A fpr Gp Ax INFANT MURDERER. —On Sat- urday a poor woman, named Zell, liv- ing in Jenny street, near Aun, left her room to go upon an errand.
