Ar. Clay, of Alabama, opposed the motion, and
supported the report in a speech of some length.
Gen. Pillow, of Teunemee, tray opposed to the
report, and gave his views at length. He said

resolutions invoking the South to cab on the slave
holding States for that protection to person denied
by the federal autlimity.
The Committee being to session, the convention

The Chairman of the Committee reported the
preamble as at fire reported, but sulking out all
the resolutions and substituting, in their place, a
