'The Wowing letter wan written by a loan(

Fear Creams, June 15th.
We arrived at this place some time ago, and art
all in good health. We have been travelling

Wrote to you, aad I must any, for myself, that I
have never spent a more agreeable or pleasant
time in my life. The valley along this branch of

more vaned than in the United States. We hove

have had several exciting toofato hunts Banc
I last wrote you, and killed three, and one ante
lope. There are high bluffs, or mounteans of whit
clay extending along this valley for a conwderab
'distance, which wear quite • singular aspect:
The peaks are front two to three hundred fe
high, and separated from each other by beautil
ravines, covered with 6arcata of red ceder. Rack
of the blue, the country is rolling and lolly as far
as the eye can see.
Otte lovely spot which we passed through a short
time ago, is called Ash Hollow, and contains about
~:,
thi y acres of ground covered with tab, wild ,
µI trees, black currant bushes, and various oth
lu aof shrubbery. I plucked a quantity of the
mr ants, and they made an excellent stew. Wild
roses also bloom herd in such quantities as to
make the whole country look like • garden.
The next place of note la Castle bluffs, no called
because by a little stretch of the Imagtustion you
can convert as lolly peaks ram castles, cathedral',
mosques, or indeed almost any other building. —
This curious feature to the scenery, continues for
about one hundred miles. The -Court House" is
a singular rock, in appearance, almost exactly like
the one in Pittsburgh, and stands upon a high
ouund. Another singular looking structure is
'chimney rock" which also Mande on a mound,
and is about 230 feet high, and to shape nearly
round. I suppose it is unoot 23 feet in diameter,
and though but a mass of hard white clay, it with
stands all lands of weather. I climbed to the
succeed of Scout. Bluffs, and had a tine view of
the Rocky Mountains and Latinate's. Peak, about
150 miles distant. True peak In 1300 feet in alti
tude. The road near the bluffs is generally sandy,
and pretty good. We have found grass and wa
ter plenty, and have bad to endure the -.molten
pelting." of some had worms, of which you can
have but little idea, mince the hail atOneS are much
larger than at home. Same of our cattle and hor
ses LWve been lost, owing to their running of in
affright ashen struck by these frozen manes or wa
ter,and no person can with safety stand out from the
shelter ol the witgons. We have last one wagon,
which wen stench by beaming, and with all its
oontents, burned up.
Fart Laramie is a tradsng point between the
whites and Indians, and formerly belonged to I
fur company, but haa been purchased by the Con
ted States. It is situated Upon the west bank 0
the Laramie neer, which is about forty feet wide
and faur feet deep.
The fart end all n.e gulp:tinter budding, are built

We leave here to day, and will go by way of
Fort Hatt. A few hewn ago, I mot Mr. Wm. M.
rid several other Pittaburgbers, who are all in
good health.
The emigrants are becoming more and mare en,
