During the early part of to-day,n report was itO,
very general cir.mlation, that the Hon. Henry
Clay hod died ths morning. The sensation pro. ,
domed by this report W. marked and impressive,
and evinced to an extent almost incredible, lbw! :
estimation in which this great man is held by the:
citizens of Philadelphia, of every shade of polf-i
tics. Happily, towardi evening, the report was .
authentically contradicted, and the day was
manifest as had been the slam in the morning..—•
Bulletins were posted in many orthe most p#lilic
places, announcing the fact that Mr.Ckay wasiMp-.
idly recovering from his sickness, and was now
considered out of danger.

CHOLERA IN CINCINNATI

Although the Cholera here suit wears a fearful ,
aspect it rumen!, to he gradually on the decline,
and morchsit's r.nd business Inca generally are
beginning to look up a hale. to the hope that in
two or three weeks our city will be freed from
this dreadful scourge. It has bean observed in ev
ery place the Cholera has visited, that when once
the turn has thinly come, the decline of the &Selma
is much more rapid than its advance. This et*
us hope that its decline will be thus distinguishid
in this place.
In tunnexion watt the Cholera, however, there
is an observably tact not yet accounted for—thitt
the deaths from other causes have increased-
The interments for the.tweittv-four hours enid
tag at noon to-day were eightylive from Choleia,
and forty-three from other diseases—total lot Ltte

The whole interment, during the week trete
something over eleven hundred, of which ,bout
