The Produce market waa dull, and prices un
changed.
Colton—A flight re-action took place in the mar
ket in consequence ofthe Buropa’s advices. The
btuin eps in the French mnnafactaring towns is
improving. Stales of CoUoq at Liverpool on the
94th, amounted to 3.500 bale*—pricks firm. ..
Have*.—There was a slight reaction in - the
cotton market. Tlie business in the French manu-
facturing towns is improving. An active spring
trade is anticipated.
A change cf ministry is anticipated.
The emoubt of gold received by the various
houses in London from California is more (ban
£40,000. • . ; •
All the efforts used by the governments ofFntnce
and Great Britain, to review the armistice between
Sardinia and Austria have failed. Hostilifiea'wiU
therefore recommence oad will be carried on with
great vigor. • !i
AJthongh the European sympathies have bt{en
strongly enlisted in the l!aiian|cause, yet it is g«tjei
ally feared that King ChaHes Albert will be beaten
by bis powerful enemy who number 10,000 striiog
and who meditate a direct attack upon Turin.
The latest accounts from Hungary state that the
Imperialists are not making much headway ageins*
the ilaygars as success lus recently crowned! the
eflorts of the latter. The Austrians have several
times been defeated. A proposition has been tdade
to submit the chases of difficulty to the Emperor
of Russia for adjudication, but tiotbing definite wps
agreed upon. 1

Italy.— The King of Naples baa bad great diffi
culty to sustain bis throne. A formidable Intttr •

The returns ofthe Bank of France are not quite
so formidable to trade as’ fears were apprehended
they would be.

great preparations by toilitary and otherwise, to

Pants. —At the Bourse, the three per cent stocks
were quoted at 52 francs; 75 per cents $2095.
The French Government received telegraphic
dispatches announcing that the Sardinian army
were at Tacino on the 20th nit. Three divisions
of the Austrian army parsed the same river on thd
21st. With some resistance, Charles Albert was
forced across the streams and it was supposed a
great battle would be fought on the plains oy
Vercilli. The French expedition of 12,000 nre
ready to sail immediately should the Anstriaosset
foot oq the Pontifical territory.

Ifus.—Oo Thursday night, a house belonging', lo
James Kerr, situated on Fulton street, and nearly
opposite the dwelling of the late Dr. Bruce, was
discovered to be on fire. The neighbors rushied
in, when the upper story was found to be filled with
sm6ke and flames. The fire, it is believed, origi
nated from a enndfe having been iacaotiously tirft
near a bed. The bed, bedstead, chairs, dec., aad
iwo trunks which were under the bed. were burnt,
but the fire was payout without any further damage
having been done. ' -
Fmx.—Last night, about 7 o'clock, the roof of a
bouse occupied by a German named Eaplen, in au
alley leading mtodjie Diamond,' from FhAh street
was discovered to be on fim. An alarm wan rais
ed, tut the flames ikere subdued before the engines
.got to the spot. \
