present condition of the Portage Railroad, and to
momor-iuize the Legislature lor an appropriation to

present condition of the Portage Railroad is such
n> to ortcr senou* obstruction to the trade of the
ol the Pennsylvania Canal; thereby injuriously al»
revenue* of the Slate, and the commerce
ol the city of Pittsburgh, and, notwithstanding this
