A New Lira Paromvia.—Various inviations
oontrivenres have been invented in the praservas

get into the water, all of which have had their
several recommendations. Perhaps however the
best one yet produced, certainly the mom novel
one in its appearance—may be seen at the india

Water Si. It is a complete India robber dress all
in one piece, covering every part of the body ex.

most simpler appearance. Mr. Rawlaton,of Wash.

We understand this when this dram is in read.
inane it can be put on In a few seconds, and when
on, it is impossible 6:n the wearer to sink. The
dress can be pet into small compass and is not
very costly.—There was a large crowd collected
off the wharf to witness the operation and many a
hearty laugh at the comical appearance of M.

but we advise persons to depend upo n the
advice of their 'rigidity family physician abbe. It
is dangerous during the prevalence of an epidemic
disease no rapid and fatal in its character an Cholera,
Gar any one ignorant of the nature and symptoms of
disease, and the effects of medicines, to be experi,
wanting on themselves or their friends. We
would warn all penman., also, against unmanly
fear, and the making of great changes is their a
cuatcmcd diet. The beat plan is to use g fluff
ciency of digessaida and wholesome food, guarding
principally against excess, and disrpensmg with
'rich pasties. By avoiding exposure, and execn
of eating or drinking, and by keeping an easy con.
science, and indulging in a cheerful dispasition,
the Cholera may be prevented better than by all
the nostrums ever invented whch frequently pre.

seeks to escape from.

'Sir: Having been, In the hands of Profidence,
an hamble instrument of discovering an inallible
remedy for cholera morbus, even in the most des
parole cases, I hasten to communicate to your es
timable journal the treatment by which, with God's
assistance, I have quickly succeeded in curing the
patient—it is as follows : .
'Aa won as the vomiting and dianhma begin;
hput the patient's legs up to the knees in water as
ot as the hand can bear, throw into it six or seven
handfuls of coarse salt; let the legs be rubbed for
half an boor by two strong persons, using both their
hands. Open the large vein of each foot, and let
it bleed in the hot water from twelve to twenty
minute., according to the sex, age, and strength of
the patted. Daring this time add more hot water
as It becomes cooled ; and natural animal beat will
return immediately throughout the whole body as
well sa consmonenees.—The patient will soon speak
and sear for food. He will be perfectly able to
resume his ordinary duties after one or two
days.
„ t
'Of sixty eits attacked with cholera whom
I have see ...vend had been soddenly attacked
while at wok in the field. others, alter having re.
tired in pe t health to bed and been asleep part
of th e night, were awakeacd at dawn of day with
the usual r ptoros, in the greatest intensity; and
although ' cc was rarely obtained before the
expiration o bailee hoer or even one or two tours,
(sometimes ' or eight horns, and even ten hours
had clap ,) all have been restored to perfect
health in se h wise as to be able to resume their
business 6. or six days after being attacker% in
some cases n the next day or third day. It has
happened, t ugh rarely, that, th e blood not flow
ing long eno gh. the patient has been bled a second
time, this ad time in the arm and not In the
foot. In n case has th e treatment ailed.
'A eemark ble feature of the efficacy of the treat
ment is th e' mediate and perfect reestablishment
of their health in all of the patients, who instead of
Jonas their strength, seemed no the contrary, to have
itielred near vigor. •
'ls. future the snit of the cholera will excite lees

last twenty-four hours, of which ninety-two were

The Bulletin, attic 2Sth, soya: Th. reports COO.
tinue to exhibit a considerable mortality, but it is
confined almost exclusively to the newly arrived
emigrants, and to the poor and destitute generally.
We have not only beard venous details, so to the
accommodations, mode of living, and exposure, of
the poor emigrants that are daily arriving among
us, but we have ourselves visited some of the 10.
oalitien where they tar congregated; and our sur
prise is, not that so many of them die, but that any
of them survive. They are crowded in amall
damp and unwholesome apartments, with from four
to eight, ten and twelve, in a small room. As we
hate no cellars in thin city, the ground floor fie.
guendy lies directly on the earth, and la the present
wet weather, the water, as a person walks across
the door, will actually acme up through the joints.
It is in such localities, that many of the sick are
extended, on a tingle blanket, and crowded togeth.
er In a mild atmosphere, without either, the com
forts or the necessaries their situation roguing, and
as death thias them off; newly arrived anti= are
