The Louisville Journal teams from a gentleman
direct from Fmaltfort,that the steamer Greenwood,
while ascending the Kentucky river, one hundred
miles above Frankflizt, took a 'sheer on the pilot.
and became unmanageable; and it being necemary
to keep ahead, in Order to avoid the rocks upon
which she would have been carried had the en•
gine* been stopped, she ran into the shore timber,
and in passing under Come trees, her cabin, pilot
