Trial of a safe in Cincinnati. o.—We the undersign

Co's improved Phoenix fire-prooCnfea The safe was
placed in a furnace on the publlc ianding, and subjected
to the intense heat of a stone coal fire for more than
three hears. In one hour and • half the sate came to
• bright red heat, the door of the furnace was then
closed, which used an increased and steady heat for
the balance of the nom, wail the east iron wheels were
partially melted otP the furnace was then thrown down
and the safe rooted and opened. The money, papers
and books which it contained were as perfect as when
placed them the binding only of the Oinks being in•
tared by the water In cooling the safe. We have no
hesitation in recommending it to the public as a safe
superior to any we have ever seen tested, and believe
that tt wdl stand any heat which might be prodeced,
