Cmcnotan Pima asn Moray ?Loam—The fol
lowing observations from Peabody's Prices Con
rent, show the state of things here in regard to the
important-articles of Pork and Money. In regard
to the Mime?, it is evident the market NO: not bear
high prices. Speaking of Hogs, the Price Current
*aye The troth in regard to prices on the Ohio is
this. A month or two since contracts were made
to some extent, br packing here, at 5.3 per 100 Ibr,
and recently some connects have been made at
50 per 100 lbs. These rates are prelim..
on a' short crop." It is stated that the number
in Kentucky is considerably abort of last year. and
it'is belirMed that in the parts of Obio and Indiana

son, but how far better prospects, which have ex
heed for two or three months, may change the
comae of things, cannot now be ascertained.—
Farmers, and Drovers who as among the homers
can judge more correctly than it is possible for us
to do in regard to the number likely to seek a mar
ket, and will, or ought to be governed more by
their own information than upon present prices
offered here.
Other influences, however, than those ariwyt
from the comparative number of hogs, will have
much to do with prices, not only here, but through
out the eountrv. All the summer and fall, up to
the present time, the money market has been ex
tremely stringent. We have never known a
more universal scarcity than has been Olt for sev.
eral months, and we cannot learn what is to be the
modus operandi by which a supply for the wants
of the Pork seaman is to commanded.
Hoes--It seems to be an admitted fact that the
stock of hogs in the country is large,Bildthat their
condition (owing to an abundant corn crop) will be
very fine. We understand that large purchases
were made last week in Shelby county be this
market, at $2,50 gross. Purchases Or the Cinclus
catimarket have ranged Indiana and taken large
ly at 2,14," 52,75 gross. The prices we regard un

PAL Some of our most experienced packer, have
not yet entered the market, regarding prices too
high Par prudent Investment. From the note of
preparation it is probable that a larger number will
be packed here the present season thou there war
last season. The houses engaged in thin business
command an unlimited capital for any prudent op..
elation. Drovers and farmers may be assured of
this fact, and that every facility will be afforded
such as to mate this market their choice.—{Lem.
