We notice considerable quantities of dry geode
loading In for shipment west, and Minuets along
the wharf was more active than kw several day■
previous.
FLOUR—The receipts by river were heavier
than on any previous day of the week, sad sales
to aft& summit were effected on the wharf. We
note sales of 600 bbls from first hands at 4.75, and
of sevenl ambler lots at 4,87 p lb. Sales from
stare =Wanting te some 200 bleb at 4,87035 p
bb t. Retailing at ;17 as in quality.
GRAlN—There is very little fa the market to
operate upon, and prim are nominaL With light
ales, we may quote at the following Odes from
more.. Wheat 80c, rye 50, Barley 50055 c., corn
35, and oats 258270 rp bu.
GROCERIES—The market generally is vary
quiet, but prices rands quite firm at former quo.
tatimis. Regular sales of A 0 sugar in lots of 5,
10 and 15 blots at, far beat, 51, and for an article a
little inferior at 41 to 5o sr lh, on short time. Of
N O molasses we note sales in a small way at '2B ,
and 3 0 3 p gall, as in quality. Sales of Rio
Carey at 7 ,71071 c ar lb, and for small lots of ex
tra Rio at 8o p lb, Rica is sold by the tierce et
50, and by the bbl at 51 to 51c p
CREE3E—Receipts have been light, and sup
plies axe limited, with sales of W Rat 5106 c for
good common, and 1075 for prima cream.
BACON—We notice nothing new in the mar
ket, sad sales are regularly effected at, for city
cured hams, 61,61 to 7o p lb as in quality; aides
416314, and shoulders at 4.14341 c p lb. Sales of
prime western cored bacon are effected generally
at a shade less. Supplies are limited.
LARD—Moderate sales era effected at 6ta7o
in No 1.
CANDLES—The market ham undergone no
change from our hug quotations. Regular sales
in limited gnanuties of city star at 210. of mould
at 10f, and of dipped at 9c p lb. Cincinnati
manufactured candles are sold at about the same
figures with our own manufacture.
FEATHERS—ReguIar sales by the sack in lim
ited loss at 33034 c lb.
FIES3WAX—Thine is no activity in the mar ,
kat, and small gales only are effected at 19020 c p
pound.
BUTTER—Owing to theXalling off in the re
ceipts, supplies have been reduced, and prices
have become firmer with an advance to good roll
butter. We may quote good keg at 9toloc, fresh
roll and print at 15016, for the former, and 19020
for the latter, with =all sales from store.
CRACKERS—The prices of crackers have not
advanced as yet with the prices of flour, and reg
ular sales are effected at the following usual

delphis)-60 wars and calves, and 43 sheep and
lambs.
Beef Cattle—The transactions were to a fair ex
tant, all but 100 bead being sold at prices: ranging
is in quality, from $5 to $7 p cwt 60 hand were
driven to Brighton,and 100 head left over unsold.
Cows and Calves—There has been • better de
mand thin mud, and Fumes on the whole show a
little improvement. We quote sales at from 1118

the lines were in good order, and we are without
our usual rerports of the Philadelphia and Baltimore

Slavery was abolished in French Guiana, on the
10th of August, by virtue of a decree of the Re•
public. There was great rejoicing on the occasion,
both military and civil, after which Mau and Te•
deums were performed in the churches.

Flour—Some couceuion was made on the part
of sellers, with sales of Genesee at3s 814745 M,
and of Ohio brands at $5,75055,81 per bbl, There
is a good demand in the market, but dealers do not
agree as to term; which causes a quiet market.
Grain—There is less doing in Cqrn, and the
market has a downward tendency, with limited
sales of prime yellow at 69010 cts per busheL No
change in other grains.
Provisions—The market is a little easier, with
sales of Mess Pork to a fair =teat at 312,62, and of
Prime at $9,75 per bbl, showing s decline in both'
kinds, of 1.2 t to 25c. Lard in bbls is held at 90
per Ib, with no sales. Keg is held at 91e.
Cotton—There is a better feeling today, with an
advance of ft. per lb.
Hemp is held at $l4O per ton.
Lead—Sales at 14,371 per 100 Ilan
Groceries—A fair demand 6r Sager and Molas
ses, with an Improving tendency. Coffee is with
out change.
Money Mattere—The Stock market is dull, with
a downward tendency.

Boston, as Representative District No. 1.
