Trial of a safe in Cincinnati, o.—We, the undersign
ed were present at the testing of one of .1 Strickler &
Co's improved Phmaix fire-proof safes. The tali wit
placed Le a furnace en the public holding, sial subjected
to the intense heat of a none coal fire for more time
three hours. In one hoer and a half the safe came to
a bright red heat; the door of the fermi.was then
cloned. which caused all Increased and untidy heat for
the balance of the time, until the cast iron wheels were
partially melted off: the furnace was then thrown down
and the safe cooled and opened. The money, paper.
and books which it contained were as perfect as when
placed there, the binding only of the book. being In
ju
redd by the water in cooling the safe. We have no
hesitation in recommending it in the public as a safe
superior to any we have ever seen tested, and believe
that it will stand limy heat which might be ettetneed,
xcept a heat which would melt it to a solid mat.
