Friday Warning, August IS, P.4S.
The oppressive heat of the weather dunes; the
forenoon yesterday, was mac pleasantly rel.eved
by the copious showers• of rain which commen
ced at' noon, and the air became cool and bra
cing.
The operations of the market were quite limited,
sales being confined to the regular limited or retail
trade transactions rit prices showing little if any
variation fromprevious days report.
FLOUR—Owing to the present limited supplies
in the market. we notice a temporary advance in
the article, with sales from. store by the dray load!
at 4,3V4,40c bbl. Receipts continue very light
and sales from tint hands have been so limited as
to give no correct idea of fair quotation.
RYE FLOUR--Suppliett are light, with moder
ate sales only from store at 53 4? hhl.
CORN MEAL--Supulies are light, and but little ,
doing. We may quote the article nominally from ,
rime at 51,62 p bbl.
PROVI,SIONS—The market is steady but not
active. In bacon, we observe no change. Stiles

market are only for the supply of the regular trade

SUOMI Clol6—Through Messrs. Wylie S Sumia
we have received front Mr. Joseph .6 Williams, of
Gaya. Place plantation, in the Parish 431 Lamar
che, n bundle of sugar cane, as a sample of his
growing crop. I: is considered a fine specimen
tor so early a period of the season, and unanswer
able evidence that the reputation of Mr. 'Williams
in respect to plantations is not overrated.
We bare also received a remarkably tine spec,.
men of cane raised this year by Mr. Amant Hebert
of lberville It seems to us fogy two months ear
lier than usual. So the a. we inlay judge from the
representations made to us, the sugar crop this
year will be early and abundant.--151 C Picayune

The progress of Trade sod Commerce jor:na
the past week has been greatly retarded by the ex.
crease uneasiness which is felt respecting stole
of alliurs in Ireland. The markets for C.
Produce have therefore been less nctlve.
exception of Bogor, which he.. been in fair de

tent. The 'mg, trade has been active nod prices
rather higher, Mama:loured goads are lest. ;squired

The Money market to Pa,. and the rates ^f in

Since the of the A n.erica, the sales of
Cotton amount to 31.1.50 bales, 01 which specula
tors took 2,7110 American, and exporters 4,530 A
merican. 1,240 Pernam, and 32 Surat, leaving 25,
3SO bales for the consumers.' nse. The general
tone of the market has been quiet and without an
imation. Prices of nearly all descriptions remain
the same as on this day week. If any change. it
is in favor of the buyer. The market closed yes
terday with little more cheerfcluess. and s-des to
the extent of nearly 6,000 balese etierted at
full prices. The estimated stock of Cotton at Li.
verpool now amounts to 5 , 55.530 bales. against
413.120 ambe same period in 15 17. The imports
this year. as compared with those of last season to
a similar date, show an increase cif 305,063.
There has been much uneasiness felt at the mast
character of the weather during the lost fortnight,
lest the growing crops should sutler tScrehy and
retard the progress of the harvest- This. coupled
with the reports of she reappearance of the lima-
Me disease, has caused some speculation in the
grain trade, consequently prices have advanced
for most articles offered for sale. At Markslane.
onlrlonday last, Wheat rose - 3s per quarter—the
hest English White selling at 50s to 5Ss for new,
and 52s to 55s for old; Red,4ls to 525. There was
an increased demand Go Indian Corn, and sales
were made at 36s to 40s—the latter price, how
ever, checked business. The value of Flour was
maintained, and it was sold at 41 a to 41s Od per
sack for Town make, and 225 to 27s per boll air
American. The rase in Wheat as Mark Lane on
Monday was followed ho another advance of 2,

Report for the Week ending July 2t.—The ac
counts received yesterday from Ireland, as to a re. ,
cent outbreak, caused for the time a great seam,
tiOrl, and though the report has since been proved
to be quite unfounded, yet it is at neoe per
ceived what the effect produced by such an event
would be.
Hmvingnow recovered from this apprehension,
for the present at least, our Cotton market han be ,
come more settled, yielding in favor of the buyer,
but in so slight a degree that our quotations will
remain as last week, middling Orleans excepted.
Which we reduce to aid per pound. Other de
scriptions have been much inquired Or, but re
main unchanged. 2,100 American has been taken
on speculation. and 4,030 American, 40 Surat and
1,540 Pernam, for export The sales fur the week
amount to 34,180 boles---George Holt St Co.
STATE OF TrIAD.
The state of Trade' m the manufacturing dis
tricts has not unproved during the Jest week. The
accounts front Manchester state4hot the dernmd

holders had been obliged to accept h over prices.—
This arises from the tenor of the ad vices from Ire
land, and the present position of at Taira between
Germany and Denmark. Anent...ling to the official
report of the state of Employment in Manchester,
we find that of 213 mills, foondries Se. within

The Woolen trade of Yorkshire PbP du II and [mice,

the Money market was stead y and at quotations
similar to those last quoted, but they have latterly
fluctuated much on BCCOUNI of the ',vent excite.
