COMMITTEE FOR AUGUST
SAS. MARSHALL. SOIL PMMCOCL. GED. in-er5LOl.
OM= PITTSBUEGH OAre."l - 14
Tuesday Morning, August S. 1b75.5.
The weather yesterday was very pleasant for
at door business. but a general dullness prevailed
in the market, and sales were confined entirely to
limited or retail ealea to the trade.
The river continues in fair stage for all the pus
poses of trade, but owing to the present slackness
of the season, very little is doing in that ginner.
FLOUR—Some small Into arrived yesterday by
river, but as it was mostly designed for shipment
East, very little was sold from first bands, and we
found no material change in prices Regular lima
iced sales are effected from store at 425(a4,31, ne_
cording to quantity and quality.
, -
RYE FLOUR—We note sales to a limited ex
tent from store, at $3, oud from first hands at 2.75
CORN MEAL —Saki are effected in a einall
wev at 40015 c p

GROCERIES—We discover no material change
in the market. Prices of ell kinds remain very
firm. We may quota as the following ratoc..N 0

02S0 as in quality; sugar house do, 40,045 c p gal!.
Rio coffee, '11.3c; rice, s,Vallic p lb. The various
other articles under thin head, are sold regularly at
former rates.
FISII—A slight improvement is apparent in
some kinds, with a fair demand for all kinds at
former rates. Sales of good No 1 mackerel at SI I

regular sales-of City cured from smoke house at

quality.
LARD—The market continues dull, with small
miles only at 61a7c. p 1.
CHEESE—SmeII lots continue to arrive by cv
ver, but the article in rendered rather dull by the
warm weather. We quote limited melee of W R
air lcp lh.
FRUIT—Some 36 bbLs of early peaches were
tnivnght in yesterday, and sold ott the wharf at Mc
pbbl. This great cheapness in the article was
caused by being delayed on the way, •which made
it necessary to harry them off at any price. Of
apples, supplies are not heavy, and small males are
effected at 61,2501,50 e
STE6XBOAT Sutm—The steamboat Little River,
