MoNONGAIIELA COAL TRAOL-- dealers enga
ged in this profitable business are taking advant
age of the present fine rise in the river, and are
shipping large quantities from the various pits along
the river, between this point and Brownsville.
During the present rise, up to 12 o'clock yester
day, 72 large flat coda have passed Lock No 1.
designed for the different markets between this
city anAcw Orleans; continuing in all 501 000
bushels. There are about 30 other boats tow 1)-
tog between Lxks No 1 and 2, which, should the
river not fall too fast, will hasten to their destined
markets in the West. The quantity contained in
those 30. boats, amounts to about 200.000 bushels,
which, added to those which have already pa ,d,
will swell the amount to 704,000 bushels. Should
the river remain at its present height for it few
days, of Which there is every probability, at least
one million of bushels will have passed to the
tower maikets.
