The weather, for the past few day*, has assumed
a more wintry aspect, and business, in the general,
is dull; sales being confined entirely to the regular
trade transactions of-the (market'
We have no change to notice in the prices, eve
ry thing remaining as per last quotations.
The river, after a rise of some 11 feet, is again
gradually receding. The recent rise was so grad*
ual, we are informed that the Ohio, all the way
down, is in fine navigable order,-there beingfan
abundant sufficiency of water' for the larger class
of boats to rnn with facility with full freights.
. Ftovn—The market is witliout change. * There
are large supplies tn market, with a limited de
mand only. The present prices are such that boh
den prefer holding off for the present, in view of a
more favonble state of things, at the opening of
an Eastern outlet to a better market Considerable
quantities continue to arrive by river, which find a
fair demand m the market at $131,12 pbbl.—
Moderate sales were effected from store, ‘yester*
day, at 84,2534,31 and $4,37 p bbL Sales by tin
gle bbh at $1,5024,62, as in quality.
Graw—Receipts continue light, and moderate
sales are effected at former rates.
Provisions— We have nolnew feature to notice
in the market—everything remaining quiet at for’
mer rales. Regular sales of Bacon are effected at
for hams 607—sides sc—and shoulders at 4c p ft,
with sales of small lots of ordinary at from an } to

Groceries—’ The receipts; continue quite liberal,
particularly of Sugar, Molasses and Rice, of which
the market is fully We continue to quote
moderate transactions in N. O. Sugar at 41(34 lc in
hbds and bbls. I Molasses remain firm at 28c—
small sales are effected at a shade less, and some
a shade higher, as in quality and terms of sale.—
Of Rio Coffee, we quote limited sales, ranging ac*
oonling to quality, from 8i to B|c p ft. New crop
Rice, is in fair demand, with sales of a few casks,
yesterday, at slc p ft—cash.
