still prevails; so much so, indeed, that we have
'rarely witnessed milder weather in the mouth of
April. ' '
With one or two exceptions, the market contin
ues steady, with no important change in the pri
ces'; which fact is owing to the present limited de
mands of our market, caused by the suspension
of eastern transportation.
Fiore —During the ‘■past week or two of pleas
ant weather, considerable additions have been
made to the supplies of the market, and prices
have underwent a partial decline. Sales at the
river have been unusually dull, and wc hear of
none higher than S4/J5 p bbl Sales of 50 bbla
from store at 4,8705, being a rei
the bbl since last quotations.
CoaxMEAL—Supplies continue quite light, with
moderate soles only at 00c p bu.
Rte Flock—Tho market is quiet, and the de
mand rather limited. We quote further-sales at
3,75(3357 p I*l.
Bcckwueat Flous—ls but little sought aAcr,
and goes off slowly at $1.5001,02 100 Dh.
Gnats—'We \ have no materialf&gtnge to note,
unless it be a disposition to shade. In wheal,
corn and rye we discover no change aa yet, but
sales of oats have occurred at 2 and 3c leas than
i at last quotations, owing to the full receipts of the

Steamer Caroline.—By the Jackson, (Miss.)
Tri-Weekly Southerner, we learn that the steam
boat Caroline,'Capt Boss, late jfrom this city, has
arrived at that place, and has commenced her reg.

that «ver run in the Pearl river trade above Jack,

Western Waters.
The river, at this point, has been nearly at a
stand, with 5 feet water in channel. The weathe:
has been very mild and open, accompanied with
some rain within the past few days.
We give the following latest intelligence of tho
condition of the western waters.
At Cincinnati, on the 24th inst, the nver contin--
ued to recede rapidly, and during the 49 hours end
ing this evening, has fallen between 5 and 6 feet
It is, however, in fine navigable order.
At Louisville, on tho 2lst, there were 9 feet on
the Falls and falling.

Stewart, down on Saturday, from Beanlstown, re
port three ; feet' water on the principal bars to the
mouth of the Illinois river, and three and a half
feet above. ;The Belmont 7* still aground, in three
feet water. i The little Dove is aground below
Alton, and the. Herald in the same situation about
thirty-five miles up the'lllinois, in company with
the Nathan 'llale, the latter with one wheel and
qne chimney. The Clermont is dischargingfreight
at the mouth, being unable to get through. There
were 5 inches snow at Beardslowa, and the river
reported rising at Pent
The Haydee arrived this morning from New
Orleans, reports five and a half feet: on the bars to
Cairo. The Rowena is still aground at St Mary’s
river. The Defiance was on a bar a part of the
day yesterday, bpt had succeeded in'getting over
and was under way.
The Hanibat; also from New Orleans, came up
with the: Haydee below Cheater, and grounded
near that placeL
The weather is mild as May, but owing to the
•carcity of produce in the market, and the difficulty
of shipping, business of all kinda is'almost entirely

At Nashville, on the 21st inst, the Cumberland
was in fine navigable order, and rising.
