The following ,partigraph, which may
convey some information to the unleara
ed we copy froM a recent num
ber of The London Times.—Ene..Trans.
"A lady in London having .bdried six
husbands' uoited herself to the seventh.
For months the newly marrird couple
tired happily together, the ladyfrequent
ly declaring 'that at last 'she had met
with a good husband, all the farmer ones
haring dis Lusted her with their drunken ,
nese. Toilseertain her rear character;
her seventh mate pretended drunkenness,
which provoked reproaches 'and mena
ces. He returned home 'another even
ing apparently very drunk, and, having
gone to bed, Affected to be asleep.—.
While be visa in that mate' the wife
'took from her gown sleeve a piece of
lead, which' she •melted, and then apt.
preaching her husband; auempted
means of a pipe ? to pour it lnto.his ear.
He instantly maned 'up, seized, and ac
cused her with the crime,_ which she
*mild not deny. The bodies of her six
husbands were disinterred, when it was
disebvered that they all , died by the
same means. She was hung amidst the
execrations of the people. To this
wholesale tragedy we are indebted for
the law which forbids the interment of a
body without a proper certiticate of the
nature of the disease which caused
death. Until lately a personal inspec
tion by searchers was requisite ; and to
- this fact ago is the origin of coroner's
inquests attributed."

on chains, atancheons, or. piles, render

to get off the wheels. The line of trac
