SERIOUS ACCIDENT.—On Tuesday aßernoon,
Mr. Alexander Calhoun, plow maker in the
employ of Messrs. Hall & Speer Manchester,
met with a serious accident. While selecting
materials, lio missed. his footing and fell be
tween two lumber piles, cutting his face, bead,
arms and hands In a terrible manner. He was
conveyed to ids residence on Beaver_ street,
where his injuries were properly dressed. Al
though seriously hurt, his life is not consid
ered in danger. He is a very estimable citi
zen, and his friends will regret to hear of his
misfortune..
Dtgro.—Sergt. W. Robinson, of Knap's 4'a.
Battery, died in Geary's Hospital on the
29th ult., of a gun shot wound penetrating
the Wain. W. H. Thompson, of the same
battery, died of a similar wound on the 81st
ult. R. 13nson, Co. K, 111th Pa„dled on
the 29th, of a wound in the abdomen, and
J. W. Barr, of Co. C, 111th of wound in both
thighs. Joseph bang, 29th Pa., wound of the
groin, (Bed Nov. 18th. Major A. Boyle, ab
domen; died Oct 29th, body taken away in
charge of his son.

subscriptions, and have already done so to about

price. manifest an upward tendency. Wheat is sell
ing from wagon at $4,30 for Red, and 31,3541,40 t,r
Whits; Sale to arrive of 7443 bush prime Rod at $1.44
Ind 1000 hush White at $1,59. Corn Is firm and
holders are asking $1,95 per bushel for Shelled on
track. Oats, too, are firmer, and we note small sales
at 75c from first hands, and 80c from store. Rye—
sales of 10,000 bash in Cleveland at $1,15, widen is
equivalent to about $1,25 hers. Barley in firm hot
unchanged at 51,39 for Spring, and $1,50 fur Fall.
Floor Is firm and quotations may be fairly given at
$5,80@6 for Ex s tra Extra, and $6,73 to $7.23 t.r Ex
