We saw, a few days ago, that the names t f

We are informed that the same coarse will

Speakifig of the faoaltles for reinforcing

First, there are 347 miles of steamboatiag

miles. Bet the road lb net open all tne way.
Trains run regularly to Corinth and Julia,
the latter 1;5 miles, seri it is not unlikely
that the road may have been opened to Deca
tur, 70 miles further east. There should, too,
be railroad communication between Steveneen

and Central railroad, the dietaries between
theme two places beingM7 miles. Bat we .can
hardly reckon - Mt mole thani say, 300 miles, if
so much, of refitted transportation between

admit their inability. to continue the fight,

Dissisitoles ferna•Portress Monroe mention re

From Knoxville we have letters to the 24:h
and dispatches use to Monday evening. The
news, though not wary important, is quits in
teresting. There have been several minor en
gapments, out no bloody battles; still the
Union victory is complete ; and beam* this
has been achieved without talons loss of life,
it if all the more cheering. The last organised
rebel force has beau ezpalled from Mit Ten-

seven regiments slime the arrival of General
Burnside. Forage and Mid' are plenty, and
our troops are in• good

people from laying violent hands on the
rebels. Notwithstanding the efforts of the
military, several rebel citizens bad been kill
