The Trumbull Guards and a host of armed citizens proceeded to the t'oene on boats, and heavy ordnance was sent up on this aide. The guerrillas getting wind of the preparations oommenood skedaddling about the time the boats reached the town. About 30 atragglers, who were left found hot work on hend. Previous to their exit they fired the Government corn, which was stored in cribs, and one or two houses in the neighborhood of the Court bouso. The most brutal act perpetrated by the scoundrels, that we beard of, was the shooting of Major Wagoner, a gentleman eighty years old, while riding along the road. We hear of but one Federal killed—a soldier in the Court houeo. Among the prisoners captured is Albert Neal, eon of Wm. Neal, living a few miles below Gslllpelis, on the Virginia side.
