A still greater soutco of uneasiness was the
want of eonstant employment for the boys.

rebellion had so interfered with the business

1861 there were sixty-seven dwellings, four
saw mill*, and one white lead factory, nn
sappHed with city water. There yet remain
fifty-five dwellings, four saw-mUUi one lead
factory* one turning shop and one sioel works
misapplied with city water. Thh greater
portion of those houses are located; In the
rlrst and Second ward, 1 and on streets and
alleys where no water pipe ii laid.
Alleged Riot.— Mrs. on
Liberty street, neat the Fifth Ward Market,
has made Information beforo Alderman Jones,
charging Peter Humphries, Francis McKenna,
Edward* Olerry, Joseph Smith, Catherine

We learn that a fatal affray occurred on new
tear', day, in the vllUge of G«orgstewn,
Beaver county, a small place on the Oblo
river. We have no particulars of the affair,
further thaii thU-thet i maE named Spenow
was etruok with a stole and killed, end that
the mnrderer was arrested on Friday and
lodged in Beaver jail. - , ■

and was drowned. He wai a fortignof > said

the 9th Pennsylvania cavalry, now on duty
in Kentucky, have unanimously protested
