The Gallant Reserves.
A gentleman, ',writing from "Camp near
Sitarpsbarg, October 6th," says that an effort
is now being made to have the Reserve Corps
transferred Pirmisylianie; for the purpose
of recruiting their -deciniatia winks. Out of
the 'entire fifteen .regiminitir composing the"
Rosen's, they cannot muster 4,000 el - anise
men althringb there are 10,000: on: the pay
Many are sick; others are wounded,
and some have bare paroled as: prisoners.
'Prom this It would appearthst about 5,000
of- this gallant band :have either offered up
their lives for the preservatien of , the Union,
or have been so disabled by wounds and dil
emmas to unlit them.for further service. They
have eartainii dens their share of fighting.
The writer adds: "I cann t say - that it
would bei good - poll°, to take tha - Reserves
back.into Pennsylvania, but we ars sadly in
need of thorough re-organisation. Some of
the companies have Sergeants and even 001 ,
penis to command them. 'Many of the offi
cers ought to be discharged and the rank and
