fied. Numerous citations have been produced

There is troubld among ibe printers in tbs
city. They claim tbit they shall net be com
pelled to labor, during the winter season, for a
ongsr period than other mechanics, tamely,
from sunrise* to sunset.' This rate prevails ru
all the Government labor, in
the navy yard, the arsenal, and on. thd exten
sion of the public buildings. Hie', existing
rale has been to demand tan hours' labor.
The Government office, in which ‘ a greater
part of oar' city printer! are employed, jw wit
ling to concede the right, but other employers
object, and are bringing on compositan from
Baltimore. In many of the offices the work
man have suspended operations and are now
on a strike. . j .
