Great;Navat Expedition:
We rye up a large share or our apace to
day, to a description of the great Naval Expe

Hanapton Itnads. The New Turk Trawl inti
mates that it hra sailed, but we doubt whether
it had sailed on Saturday morning, when the
paper was publirhed.' The 'telegraph will
probably give us the facts before'this paper is
tuned.
It will be fornid that this southern expedi

the kind heretofore attempted nn this eonti.
Dent, at least; and that, from the womb:deems
of its date' and the skill of the men to whom
the command is eottarted,"we may hope for a
'avers blow et the 'insurgents In their weakest
spot.
Where the blow it to fall, is known only to
the government and to the Commander. e.
chief of the expedition. It isprobable, there.
tore, that the insurgents Will knew before we
do where the Mediate are to tieeffeeted.
Whatever may be its object, we son only
wish the utmost anemis to the gallant men
who compose ii; Mid if their aim should b

Was hatched out. ' '
The expedition is the joint work of the Nevi
and - WritTlepartmenut. It was meant to have
been ready by the middle of September; and
the Nary Department had pa vessel' ready
then. It was, however, impeasible to get
'ready the iminesse material of the expedition
by that time; mad though everybody concern.
pd worked most diligently, it was only on 'Oc

the 6nal ehipment of troops ready to be begun.
