served, and in most Instances, our short pants. The
latter, for some two days previous, had been under--
going Ora process of renovation. Amin soap and
warm water were used unsparingly, and even all
the sembbiag brushes in the neighborhood .were

the people around, they were changed from poor,

to the beet advantage, and then the hilarity and
best of lashes. prevailed. Our whole camp war
surrounded by .ladies and gentlemen, who took
the occasion to pay their respects and become
acquainted with us, and, also, to enjoy the rare
privilege of bevies the band. perform the patriotic
airs now moss in favor than in limenpast. The
daring under the shade of , two large willows,
presented a scene much handsomer than the most
elegantly furnished bitilkreem, and all was happi
ness and harmless enjoyment. This continued
