The letter states that, at rile Von o'clock on the night of the 21 inn., a good vein of oil was struck le one elk_ the company's wells on French creek, lone mile and a quarter above the town of Franklin. This vein is at the depth of 271 feet, and is the sixth which has been °pelted in Hoe well. Preparations are making for pumping, and vats ol the necessary dimensions have been ordered.
