TlEsDAV Tbe nnveaient came to the
surface of observation, Tueslay evening,
in tbe shape of a cavalry raid on the rail
road near Maoaas Junction. It is real y
tbe advance of Jackson's, entire army
c,rp, which was the foterunner, for
I augbt that we know at present, of the
i bu k of the whole available army. Their
manifestation that night, however, was
confined to the dcstructioa of railroad
property, and (a captare of a few pris

oughfare Gap, while be himself marched
back toward Manassas, meaning to settle
