The improvements around the Court House

rnmnleted. The whole appearance is pleas-

attractive. The steps are still needed espe
cially for the North entrance.
There is also a serious lack, in the pave
munic nf th town, of siiimtile crossings from
ureet to streeu We may travel for squares, j fcirllon. KJward King, late a Prcsi

ins. Our Council could hardly appropriate '.
their money, this year, to heller advantage
than to make firm, dry crossings from street
to sireet of all the paved streets. This defi
ciency makes the other improvewenls com
paratively valueless.

W large Bull driven through Sunbury
not long since, and noticed in their papers,
was brought to Union county in -ept. last
from Ohio, and purchased by Peter Slear. He
paid $-15, and sold him in six months for $'."1,
the animal having gained miu lbs. weight in
that time. Cattle raising is a very useful
variation from the usual round of wheat crops
in this vicinity, and on the whole we believe
more profitable aud less laborious.

should be formed in Lewisburg, in Milton,
in Mifflinburg, in Hartleton, in New Ber

&c. ie. Those interested in these great
pursuits could spend one evening in a

by a committee of tbe Representatives of
the U. S. Congress, of the gross partiali

of this exposure, we see it stated, is the
abolition of the agrm-j for tho purchase
of coal for tbe U. S.. which is to be made I
hereafter by open advertisements and con-'
