Off with Dr. Edwards'
Olive Tablets
A pimply face will not embarrass you
much longer if you get a package of
Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets. The skin
should begin to clear after you have
taken the tablets a few nights.
Cleanse the blood, bowels and liver '
with Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets, the
successful substitute for calomel; there's
no sickness or pain after taking them.
Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets do that
which calomel does, and just as effec
tively, but their action is gentle and
safe instead of severe and irritating.
No one who takes Olive Tablets is
ever cursed with a "dark brown taste," 1
a bad breath, a dull, listless, "no good"
feeling, constipation, torpid liver, bad
disposition or pimply face.
Olive Tablets are a purely vegetable
compound mixed with olive oil; you will
know them by their olive color.
Dr. Edwards spent years among pa
tients afflicted with liver and bowel
complaints, and Olive Tablets are the
immensely effective result. Takeo.ieor
two nightly for a week. See how much !
better you feel and look. 10c and 25c,

Women Delighted—All Surprised by
Uuick Action of Parisian. Sage
Nowadays all up-to-date women
want radiant hair, so syft, fluffy and
abundant that it fascinates and com
pels admiration.
It's really a simple matter for any
woman to merit this praise since
beautiful hair is only a matter of
care.
When your hair becomes faded,
dry. streaked and scraggly, when it
falls out badly and new hair can
not grow, the roots must be vitalized
and properly nourished. To do this
quickly, safely, and at little expense,
get from your druggist or Kennedy's
Drug Store some Parisian sage
(liquid form) and follow the simple
directions for home use.
It's guaranteed to abolish all
dandruff, stop scalp itch and falling
hair, and promote a new growth or
money refunded.
Parisian sage is a scientific prep
aration that supplies hair needs—an
antiseptic, delicately perfumed liquid,
neither sticky or greasy and easy to
apply.
Good looking hair is half the battle
in any man's or woman's personal
appearance. Neglect means dull, thin
and lifeless hair, while a little atten
tion now helps insure thiek and
lustrous hair for years to come.
No matter what your hair troubles

Eclipse of the Sun
Tomorrow Morning
To-morrow morning there will oc
cur a partial eclipse of the sun. It
will be visible a few minutes after
sunrise. <
At 8:30 about half of the diameter
of the sun will be covered, and the
eclipse will be over at 10:16. This
eclipse is called an annular eclipse
in which the moon is too far away
to cover the whole sun.
In portions of Texas, in the north
ern part of South America, there
will be a bright ring or "anulus' left
of the sun, which is not covered.
But here this will appear only as a
partial eclipse, and the ring will not
be visible.
Thnnksgiving night there will bo
another astronomical spectacle. The
star Beta Capricornt, a star of the
third magnitude, will pass behind
the moon. In other words, the
moon will come between the earth
and this star. This frequently hap- j
pens, but not often are the stars
bright enough to see. The rpoon on
that night will be four days old.
The star may he located on the dark
side of the moon shortly after sun
set. Shortly after 6 o'clock the star
will disappear and a few minutes
Inter will reappear on the other side
of the moon. The star will be about
one-fourtb of the way from the
.horizon to the zenith. I

The Empire Phonograph was designed and built to meet the demand for a good phonograph at a reasonable price. That
it succeeds in fulfilling these requirements is proved by the fact that many hundreds of satisfied owners are unanimous in their
praise of the Empire. ,
No effort or expense has been spared to make the Empire the best phonograph built. Experts in acoustics and mechanics
have been kept constantly at work developing and perfecting new. and better phonograph devices and mechanism for use in
the Empire. Skilled furniture designers have created cabinets worthy of Empire quality—artistic, harmonious and dignified.
None but the finest of woods and other materials enter into Empire Phonograph construction, and they are fitted and finished
with exquisite care and perfection. Empire quality is supreme.
And we have kept the price of Empire Phonographs within reach of all. Building phonographs in enormous quality to
meet the unprecedented demand enables the manufacturer to reduce selling costs to a minimum. Then, too, through the owner
ship of our own building we are enabled to make quantity purchases and thus to keep down selling cost.
We believe that when you see the Empire and hear it play, you will be convinced of the truth of our claims for it.

city officio 1r as well.
One of the systems originated by
Secretary Backenstoss, which lias
lessened the work of at least four
other c.ty officials, is the method of
handling the semimonthly payroll.
Prior to the inauguration of this
system vouchers were made for
each employe about the station
house and before these vouchers
could be cashed they had to iiral be
countersigned by the Mayor," Com
missioner of Pi nance and the City
Controller. Under the new sys
tem much of this work has been
eliminated. At the present time but
one voucher, calling for the entire
amount of the payroll, is made out.
It is then handed to the City Treas
urer who hands over the ready cash
immediately. The money is then
placed into sepurate envelopes and
distributed among the policemen,
thus doing away with the old vouch
er system and compelling the men to
remain on their districts. A regular
time lias now been set for paying
the policemen, and the policemen
are not permitted to leave their dis
tricts as was necessary under the
old system.
Secretary Backenstoss first enter
ed the police force in 1902 when
lie was appointed a patrolman un
der Mayor McCormick. He was but
21 years of age at the time and he
still holds the record of being the
youngest mnnwlio hak ever donned a
police uniform in Harrisburg. He
was reappointed four years later
when Mayor Gross became the city's
chief executive and for a time under
this administration he served as I

HOW TO JUDGE A WOMAN
BY I IKK IIAIR
There is real common sense in
just noticing whether the hair is
well kept to judge of a woman's
neatness or good taste. (If you are
one of the few who try to make the
most your hair, remember that it
is not advisable to wash the hair
with any pleanser made for all pur
poses, but always use some good
shampoo. You can enjoy the very
best by getting some canthrox from
your druggist, dissolve a teaspoorrful
in a cup of hot water. This makes
a full cup "of shampoo liquid, enough
so it is easy to apply it to all the
hair instead of just the top of the
head. Dandruff, excess oil and dirt
are dissolved and entirely disappear.
Your hair will be so fluffy that it
will look much heavier than it is.
Us luster and softness will also de
light you, while the stimulated scalp
gains the health which insures hair
growth.
