Sept. 22.—The local lodge of Odd Fellows celebrated Its fourth anniversary and In honor of the occasion served a banquet and heard a number of Interesting ad dresses by prominent officers. Includ ing Grand Warden Jacob E. Woaver, of York. The lodge was organized four yeara ago and In that time en- Joyed a generous growth both In numbers and wealth. This was brought out In a history of the order read by Jacob F. Buser. The order Is known as Mount Wolf Lodge, No. 1196, Independent Order of Odd Fel lows. In addition to the address of Grand Warden Weaver, L. W. Aigeltlngrer and H. W. Benson, of York, and W. H. Long, of Hallam, gave short talks. Music by the Mount Wolf orchestra and male quartet make the evening a pleasant one.— When Just about to seat himself on a stone near the Indian Steps along the Codorus creek last Sunday, Lloyd Warner, a member of the Mount Wolf troop of Boy Scouts, was saved from being bitten by a copperhead snake by a fellow scout, George Leh man, who saw the reptile lying on the stone and about ready to strike. Led by Lehman, the boys soon had the etone clear and ready for occu pancy by Scout Warner. The boys have added several new members to the troop. They are Norman Liv ingston. Paul Livingston and Arthur Seitz. Last Sunday was the first of a eerles of hikes to be taken this fall. Scoutmaster Wilbert Z. Eisenhower was In charge.—Ten members of the T. A. H. Club, composed of young women of the borough, were at York. Where they were entertained at the liome of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Stauffer. They were treated to a luncheon, fter which music and other diver sions were introduced. Those in the party were Misses Catharine Grei man, Laura Bare, Ruth Farcht, Helen Farcht Sara Rodes, Sara Diehl, Nellie Melhorn, Laure Kunkle, Mabel Kunkle and Margaret Rodes. —The borough will lose three of its young men as a result of the first draft. The boys left on Thursday morning. They are Warren Hllde brand, Oscar Frey and Melvln Myers. —Misses Sadie Arnold and Eva R. THIRD DISTRICT MEN HONORED Millersburg Holds Four-Hour Entertainment For Men Sent to Camp Meade GIVEN ROUSING SENDOFF Luncheon and Moving Pic tures Provided For Their Diversion Millersburg;, Pa., Sept. 22. —Draft- ed men of the third Dauphin county district were entertained here for four hours on Wednesday and given a rousing sendoff. The men were driven through the town in automo biles and next taken to East Park where the Rev. Mr. Musselman, of the Lutheran Church, made a short address, after which a moving pic ture entertainment was given. A lunch was then served- In the Pick building and later the whole group of men was photographed. All of the men were presented with kits and were followed to the Pennsylvania depot by hundreds of people and schoolchildren. —The Methodist Bible class cornroast at Heckert's grove, i north of town, Monday night was a great success, about sixty men be ing present.—The home of Absalom Kralzer, In Water street, was badly damaged by fire on Monday night.
