John MoMorrls, of Delaware, Ohio,
and Charles Loomis, of Harrisburg,
are spending a week with Misses
Catherine and Gertrude Huber, at
Highland cottage. Mr. Loomis be
longs to a hospital unit and will
leave for France In about a week.
Mrs. Harry Jordan made a busi
ness trip to Harrlsburg on Friday.
Misses Matie and Emma Eves, of
Middletown, have opened their cot
tage on the campmeeting grounds.
Miss Esther Smith spent the
week-end at the Chestnut Burr cot
tage on the campmeeting side.
Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Chubbuck. of
Harrlsburg. are guest of their
daughter, Mrs. Samuel Fackler. on
the Chautauqua grounds.
Misses Betty Howard, Jessie
Smith, Mildred Burke and Florence
Rinkenbaugh enjoyed a shopping
trip to L-ebanoit on Saturday.
G. "NT. Sample, of York, has re
turned home after a week's vacation
at the York cottage.
Misses Dorothy Smith and Helen
Smith, of Philadelphia, are guests
of Miss Jessie Smith at Chestnut
Hill cottage.
Robert Hutchison, of Chautauqua
Inn, gave an informal dance at the
Inn on Saturday night.

burg, Is spending some time with
Miss Charlotte Fackler, on the Chau
tauqua grounds.
George Mumma and Mr. and Mrs.
Luther Mumma, of Harrlsburg,
spent Sunday at their cottage here.
Mr. and Mrs. John Shelly are
spending a week at their city home.

spent the week-end with his par

Ohio, is' spending the summer
months with her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. H. E. Corning.
Mrs. Susan Adams, of Harrlsburg,
Is occupying her cottage on the
campmeeting grounds.
The Rev. N. L. Llnebaugh, of
Cedarhurst cottage, spent the week
end at Harrisburg.
Change in Schedules
Affect Dillsburg Travel
7">illsbure. Pa., July 9.—Changes
In schedules on the Pennsylvania
and Cumberland Valley railroads
wont into effect, yesterday. Theweek
rtay trains all remain the same. The
first train out from here Sunday
morning Is now 7.45 instead of 8.25,
find returns at 8.40 instead of 9.25.
Persons leaving here at 8.45 Sunday
morning will be obliged to take the
trolley from Mechanicsburg east,
and persons wishing to come here
from points east of Mechanlesburg
will be obliged to use the trolley to
Mechanicsburg as there are now no
trains connecting with these two.

Surprise Superintendent
Dillsburc, Pa., July 9.—Friends
and members of the Methodist Sun
day School Have their superintend
ent. H. M. Evans, a pleasant sur
prise on Friday evening. It had been
arranged that Mrs. Evans go . out
with him early in the evening for an
automobile ride, and while they were
gone about thirty of his friends took
charge of the premises, and on their
return Mr. Evans was completely
surprised, having no knowledge of
the affair. It was the occasion of
Mr. Evans' thirty-sixth birthday and
he was the recipient of thirty-six
carnations. The party was enter
tained on the lawn with the talking
machine and a number of open-air
games among the pastimes. Later
refreshments were served.
BOY SCOITS TO BUV F I,AC.
Camp Hill, Pa., July ft.—A meeting
of the Camp Hill Boy S:outs will be
held in the school building to night.
All troopers will turn in their sub
scriptions for the fund to purchise a
flag for the rtoop. Th>re are now
twenty-two in the troop and they
will ajl l>e given their flijal examina
tions to-night.
STREET NEEDS REPAIRS
Camp Hill. Pa., July 9.—A mutiny
of council will be hell Thursday eve
ning. Council has authorized the
street, commissioner to fill all holes
in the newly-built Market street with
stone and oil. The street has been
built but a short time, but the heavy
traffic has already worn degp holes
in the street.

New Cumberland, Pa., July J.—Tem
porary improvements to Bridge street
this spring now nearing completion
have cost the borough about *3OO, ac
cording to a councilman to-day.
