sex or age, who desire to leave the
monarchy may travel to Switzerland
up to four weeks from the date of
the rupture of relations, April 9.
After that date no Americans will

Dr. Swartz Will Preach First
Sermon in Camp Curtin
Church
The Rev. Dr. Maurice E. Swartz,
recently appointed superintendent of
the Harrisburg District of the Cen
tral Pennsylvania Methodism will
preach in Camp Curtin Church to
morrow evening at 7:30 o'clock.
Dr. Swartz has been for a number
of years a prominent and successful
pastor in the Central Pennsylvania
conference of the Methodist Episco
pal Church. He comes into this new
field of labor a favorite of both pas
tors and churches.
The Harrirfburg district over which
Dr. Swartz presides is the strongest
in the Central Pennsylvania confer
ence. It consists of tifty-one pastor 3
and charges with a church member
slii pof 18,000; it pays its pastors
over $50,000 per year; contributes
towards its benevolent enterprises
over $29,000 annually and claims a
property value in parsonages and
churches of $1,379,400.
Dr. Swartz will reside in Harris
burg and lie interested in all the
moral and social uplift of the city.
Stevens Memorial Guards
to Attend Church Services
Less than two months ago Major
Walter L. Vanaman Organized the
Stevens Memorial Guards for reg
ular military drill. More than two
hundred and tifty belong to the three
companies. Strict up-to-date tactics
are being used in all drill work. All

j regulation military drills, are in
structed in first aid work, signalling,
1 Morse and wireless telegraphy and
S physical gymnastics. Trained mlli
i tary men are in charge of the work.

He will leave Tuesday for Phila
delphia where he will take up the
duties as one of the secretaries in
the Department of Religious Educa

Street Chapel in the evening. His
successor will be the Rev. Harold
H. Baldwin, of Princeton Theologi

"Greatest Thing in World"
Subject of Sermon to Be

On Sunday morning at Pine Street
Presbyterian Church, the topic of the
sermon will be: "The Greatest Tiling
in the World." The preacher will

"A Thorn in the Flesh."
On Friday evening the Glee Club,
of the Memorial Building, will make
its first public appearance present
ing a program of varied interest.
This will be open to the general
public, and while no admission fee
will bo charged, a silver offering will
be asked for the benetit of the
"Camp Fund." The entertainment
will be held in the Memorial Build
ing.
Thursday afternoon and evening
the Church Mother's meeting will
hold the closing exercises for this
year. Saturday afternoon the Home
and Foreign Missionary Circle will
have an entertainment in the social
room.

ATMILLERSBURG
Will Be Held June 26-27; Sun
day School Paper to Be
Issued
At the recent meeting of the ex
ecutive committee of the Dauphin '
County Sabbath School Association,
in the office of the Weaver Typewriting
Company, a gratifying report of the
recent series of district conventions
was made.
All the districts in the county are
now fully organized except the dis
trict comprising the part of Harrls
burg north of North street. During
the conventions subscriptions for the
new Dauphin County Sunday School
news, were taken. The paper gives
every promise of being a success and
of tilling a long felt need In the work
of the county association.
One of the most important Items
of business was the election of Mr.
Lebkicker, of Hershey, as an ad
visory member of the executive com
mittee, upon the motion of Col. H.
C. Demming. Col. Demmlng spoke
of Mr. Lebkicker as a man who liasv
long had a deep interest in the work \
that is being done in the community, \
especially among the young people, j
by the Sunday School. ,
A report concerning the work of
the committee in charge of the pro
gram for the County convention was
made. The convention will be held ,
in Mlllersburg on Juno 26 and 27.
The pastor, the superintendent, the
primary superintendent and two del
egates t'roiU each school in th coun
ty are the representatives entitled to
participate in the deliberations of
111 • • convention. The attention of
j Sunday School superintendents is
I called to the date and place of tlie
convention; they are requested to
see that their own school is repre
sented adequately. A splendid pro
gram is assured. The state workers
on the program will be Preston G.
Orwig, one of the livest wires in
the Sunday School work as well as
one of the most practical workers in
Pennsylvania, and Miss L. Grace
Kane, the new elementary superin
tendent, who is making a tine repu- |
tation in her work throughout the
state. Other attractive speakers will J
be on the program, which will be
one of the best ever presented in
this county. The next meeting of
| the executive committee will prob
ably V>e held in Hershey.
HARPIST TO PLAY
Miss Marie M. Miller, of Erie, a
harpist of note will play at services
to-morrow at Augsburg Lutheran
Church. She will also play at the
Sunday school session in the after
l noon. The Rev. A. M. Stamets, pas
