The A. B. F. B. Permanent Blind 1
Relief War Fund is the most widely I
organized of all American war relief \
societies for the benefit of the entente h
allies. Its national headquarters are at d

it has branches in Boston, Philadel- j
phla, Cleveland, Chicago, Richmond, o
Norfolk and more than a hundred c

purpose is to raise a $2,000,000 en
dowment to teach the blinded soldiers
and sailors trades not requiring sight
and subsequently to furnish them with
all necessary tools and materials and
to sell at good prices the articles which
they make.
The fund's American organizers in
clude: Vincent Astor, August Belmont,
Robert Bacon, Lyman J. Gage, U. S.
Senator Thomas P. Gore, Myron
T. Herrick, Otto H. Kahn, George A.
Kessler, Elihu Hoot, Whitney
Warren and Joseph Widener. The
honorary vice-presidents include hun
dreds of notables. The honorary
treasurers are Frank A. Vanderlip,
president of the National City Bank
of New York, Sir Edward Holden,
chairman of the London City and
Midland Bank, and M. Georges Pal
lain, Governor-General of the Bank of
France.
The fund will be distributed under
the patronage of the Monarchs of
England and Belgium and the Presi
dent of France.
