United States Steel and related in
dustrials later rose 1 to 4 points, with

und a few specialties in the leather and
paper groups. Rails failed to share in
the movement and heaviness was dis
played by Industrial Alcohol and Bald
win Locomotive. Proiit-taking and
selling induc.d by rumors of another
marine disaster affecting the allies
caused some irregularity later. The
closing was strong. Sale 9 approxi
mated 500,000 shares. Bonds were
irregular, international issues record
ing slight concessions.

DAVID P. KILMORE DIES
New Cumberland, Pa., March 10. —
David P. Kilmore, aged 81 years, a
■well-known farmer, died at his home
In Fairview township on Thursday
from lieart trouble.
Mr. Kilmore was a breeder of reg
istered Jersey cattle and English
Berkshire hogs, and had gained state
wide reputation. He was born in Fair
view township and Is "survived by two
sons, Ira J. and Ray V. Kilmore: one
granddaughter, Miss Edna Kilmore. a
brother. Joseph, of Upper Allen town
ship, and a sister, Mrs. Seitz, of Lan
caster.

AFFAIR. GETS SSO DAMAGES
Philadelphia, March 10. —Twelve-
year-old Mary Maszewska and 15-
year-old Joseph Nlemic were child
hood sweethearts, -according to the
story told yesterday in Judge Davis'
court. One of Mary's love notes to
Joseph fell into the hands of his sie
ler, Veronika, who spanked and
sent Joseph to bed.
Mary's mother brought suit for
damages against Veronika and yester
day the Jury gave Mary SSO damages
for tho spanking, and $25 to her
mother.
